Naco External Louvres and Sunscreens are helping to combine fresh
air ventilation and solar shielding with pleasing external lines
at two major office developments in Slough Berks.
The projects, near London's Heathrow airport, have been designed
by the internal department of architecture at Slough Estates - the
developers and main contractors.
Masters of the art Naco Series 75 External Louvres have been selected
to shield the plant rooms which require significant volumes of fresh
air. Design of external louvres embraces both engineering and aesthetics.
Units must meet the requirements of the building services systems
and the architect's vision of the building's appearance. Naco are
acknowledged as masters of the art. Series 75 units feature factory
assembled modular panels, comprising aluminium blades with a 75mm
spacing.
Blades are secured to rear stiffener bars by means of aluminium support
clips. Use of this mechanism means that the stiffener bars do not
interrupt the pleasing continuous line of the louvres when fixed
in position. While Series 75 Louvres will provide approximately 47%
per cent free air for ample supplies of fresh air, the angled aluminium
blades guard against weather and prying eyes. The bird wire guards,
which are fitted as standard, ensure an impenetrable line of defences
to feathered home seekers.
Energy Efficiency
The ellipsoid blade Sunscreens installed at the new Slough project
ensure sufficient light penetration, whilst shielding the building
from excessive solar gain. To the benefit of both comfort conditions
and energy efficiency.
A hinged arrangement has been integrated into the design of the Naco
Sunscreens, so that they can be lifted downwards to provide easy
access to the glazing for cleaning.
